Apopka's Hometown Halloween will be 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 28 at Kit Land Nelson Park. The free event will feature trick-or-treating, inflatables, face painting, a movie and food trucks. Special thanks to Fun Sun Party Rentals and McCoy Federal Credit Union.

Apopka First Responders 5K Race

The Apopka First Responders 5K Race, which was postponed after Hurricane Irma, is now scheduled for 7 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 12, at the Northwest Recreation Complex. The first 100 registered runners get a T-shirt.
